Sudbrooke Project - Part 2

Greetings, dear friend! We're back with more exciting news from our workshop in Hertford, and we can't wait to share the latest gem that's rolled off our crafting tables: the magnificent Florence Sideboard. This beauty is the second instalment of our bespoke project with Bergman and Mar Design Studio in London, and we couldn't be more thrilled with the outcome.

A Bespoke Marvel

When our friends at Bergman and Mar approached us with the idea of creating a 2-meter-long sideboard for their London project, we knew we had to bring our A-game. This sideboard is more than just a piece of furniture; it's a work of art designed to meet the specific requirements of our client.

Eight Generous Drawers

Just like the wooden bedside cabinets we introduced earlier, the Florence Sideboard features eight generous-sized drawers. These drawers are designed for practicality and offer ample space for your storage needs. Whether you're stashing away clothing, linens, or any other treasures, this sideboard has you covered.

The Detail

Antique Brass Handles

To add a touch of timeless elegance, we've adorned each drawer with antique brass handles. These handles not only provide functionality but also contribute to the overall aesthetic, lending a sense of sophistication to the piece.

Symmetrical Detailing

What sets the Florence Sideboard apart is the meticulous detailing. We've added intricate framing around each drawer front, creating a symmetrical and balanced look that's pleasing to the eye. It's these small design elements that make a big difference in the overall appeal of the piece.

Geometrically Shaped Sideboard Feet

The artistry of this sideboard doesn't stop at the drawers. The geometrically shaped sideboard feet are a testament to the thought and precision that went into its creation. These feet elevate the piece, both literally and figuratively, adding to its unique charm.

FSC-Approved Ash Veneered MDF and Solid Ash

Given the substantial size and weight of the Florence Sideboard, we opted for FSC-approved Ash veneered MDF for the main carcass, the top, drawer detail and feet are made in solid Ash. This not only ensures durability but also allows the beautiful ash grain to shine through the black lacquer finish. It's a harmonious blend of strength and elegance.

Signature Bow-Tie Joinery

One of the standout features of this sideboard is the signature bow-tie joinery detail on the top surface. Bergman and Mar have a fondness for this distinctive design element, and we were more than happy to incorporate it into the piece. It's a nod to our commitment to bespoke craftsmanship.

A Showpiece of Elegance

The Florence Sideboard is more than just a piece of furniture; it's a showpiece of elegance and craftsmanship. It's a testament to our dedication to creating pieces that not only meet the functional needs of our clients but also elevate the aesthetics of their living spaces.

As this sideboard finds its place in the London project designed by Bergman and Mar, we're excited to see it become a focal point in a space filled with style and sophistication.
